Aims and Objectives

In order to meet its vision, the centre will also assist students to take up clinical legal education in Environmental Law in order to further the aim of creating well rounded skilled professionals. The centre would also promote theme-based activities on environmental issues like biodiversity, climate change, sustainable development, illegal trafficking of endangered species, pollution control laws, and the like. The main objective of centre is to build effective networking among all the stakeholders, undertake activities to create sensitivity amongst students, conduct training and capacity building program, provide consultancy on environmental issues, and build an environmental law community.


In order to achieve the objectives, as set above, CECC intends to broadly undertake the following activities: 

1.  Edorsing student and faculty research initiatives through organising national and international seminars, webinars, conferences and faculty development programs.

2.  Skill based training for students through Environmental Advocacy Clinics so that they develop skills to prepare arguments and claims, learn to communicate effectively with clients, courts, agencies, officials, experts and opposing parties.

3.  Involving students to raise awareness and sensitivity about Environmental Conservation through community wide field activities.

4.  Organizing expert talk series through online and offline mode which will ensure dissemination of environmental knowledge through different views of various stakeholders.

5.  Ensuring collaboration of research scholars, legal academics, practising lawyers, NGOs and other stakeholders in order to promote empirical and interdisciplinary research ecosystem.

6.  Creating a Blog post and sending monthly Newsletters to the signed up email ids with information about latest news, upcoming events, featured publications and updates on environmental and climate change issues.

7.  Taking up various Funded Research Projects from government or other organizations in area of environment, sustainable development, climate change etc

8.  Collaborating with the Environment Research Centres of other National and International institutes in order to take up high impact researches.
